What changed after the disposable ban
On 1 June 2025 the sale of single use disposable vapes became illegal across the UK. You can read the official guidance on GOV.UK. That ended the original Elf Bar 600 disposable and every product like it.
Elf Bar did not disappear. The brand rebuilt its entire UK range around rechargeable devices and replaceable pods. Practically, that means an Elf Bar today is a small battery you keep and a pod you swap, rather than a device you bin. The draw, the flavours and the nicotine hit are deliberately close to the originals, which is why most people switching across barely notice the difference.
The change also cut the running cost sharply. A disposable was a fixed price for roughly 600 puffs. A prefilled pod delivers a similar or greater number of puffs for less, and a refillable kit run on ELFLIQ costs less again.
Elf Bar ELFA Pro pods and kits
The ELFA Pro is the Elf Bar range most people land on. The device is a slim rechargeable pod kit, and the prefilled pods click straight in. There is no filling, no coil to prime and no mess.

We stock the Elf Bar ELFA Pro Pod Kit Bundle, which pairs the device with pods so you have a working setup in one order, and the ELFA Pro kit on its own if you already have pods.
Pod flavours in stock include Blue Razz Lemonade, Blueberry Sour Raspberry, Cherry Cloudd, Apple Peach, Cola, Mix Berries and Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice. Each pod holds 2ml, the UK legal maximum, and typically lasts a comparable time to the old 600 disposable.
Elf Bar ELFX and ELFX Pro
The ELFX and the ELFX Pro Classic Edition sit a step above the ELFA Pro. The battery is larger, so you charge less often, and the airflow is a little more open. If you vape heavily through the day, or you are the sort of person who forgets to charge things, this is the Elf Bar to take.
The ELFX Pro Classic Edition adds a tobacco leaning flavour set aimed at ex smokers rather than the sweet fruit profiles that dominate the rest of the range.
Elf Bar 600 prefilled pod kit
The Elf Bar 600 name carried straight over from the banned disposable into a legal prefilled pod kit. If you used the original 600 and want the closest possible replacement, this is it: same draw, same flavour profile, same pocket size, but with a rechargeable body and a pod you replace.
This is the product we point most ex disposable users at first, because nothing else in the Elf Bar range feels as familiar.
ELFLIQ nicotine salts
ELFLIQ is Elf Bar’s own bottled e liquid line, built to reproduce the flavours people already knew from the bars. It is nicotine salt based rather than freebase, which matters more than it sounds.
Nicotine salt is smoother in the throat at higher strengths, so 20mg is comfortable in a small mouth to lung device where 20mg freebase would be harsh. That is exactly why salts suit pod kits. Browse the wider nic salt range if you want to compare ELFLIQ against other brands.
If you own any refillable pod kit, ELFLIQ lets you keep the Elf Bar flavour you like without being tied to Elf Bar hardware at all.
Flavours we stock
Elf Bar flavours split into four rough families. Fruit, which covers Blue Razz Lemonade, Blueberry Sour Raspberry and Apple Peach. Ice and menthol, including Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice. Soft drink, mainly Cola. And tobacco, found in the ELFX Pro Classic Edition.
If you are coming off cigarettes, tobacco or menthol usually feels most natural for the first few weeks. Most people drift to fruit afterwards.
Which Elf Bar should you buy?
If you used a disposable and want minimal change, buy the Elf Bar 600 prefilled pod kit. If you want the widest flavour choice, buy the ELFA Pro. If you vape heavily or hate charging, buy the ELFX Pro. If you already own a refillable pod kit, skip the hardware entirely and buy ELFLIQ.
Whichever Elf Bar you choose, order spare pods at the same time. Running a tired pod is the single most common reason people decide vaping is not working for them and go back to cigarettes.
Nicotine strengths explained
UK law caps nicotine at 20mg per ml, so every Elf Bar product here is 20mg or below. As a rough guide, a 20 a day smoker usually starts at 20mg. A 10 a day smoker is normally comfortable at 10mg. If you get a headache or feel slightly sick, your strength is too high. If you find yourself vaping constantly and still craving a cigarette, it is too low.
The NHS has practical, independent advice on using e cigarettes to stop smoking if you are switching rather than already vaping.
What an Elf Bar actually costs to run
The honest maths is the strongest argument for the current Elf Bar range. A prefilled pod costs a fraction of what a disposable did for a similar number of puffs, and the device is a one off purchase you keep for months.
Move to ELFLIQ in a refillable kit and the cost drops further again, because you are buying 10ml at a time instead of 2ml. The trade off is that you have to fill it yourself. For most people the pod route is the right balance of cost and convenience.
Compatibility, what fits what
ELFA Pro pods fit ELFA Pro devices. They are not interchangeable with ELFX pods, and neither fits the Elf Bar 600 kit. ELFLIQ is bottled e liquid and will work in any refillable pod kit from any brand, including our Vaporesso and OXVA ranges.
If you are unsure what you already own, check the pod itself rather than the device. The range name is printed on the pod. You can also compare against Lost Mary, which uses the same prefilled pod plus refill idea in its BM6000 range.
Getting the most from your pods
Prefilled pods are close to maintenance free, but three habits make a noticeable difference to flavour and to how long each pod lasts.
First, let a fresh pod sit in the device for two or three minutes before the first draw. The wick needs to saturate. Drawing immediately on a dry wick is what produces that harsh, burnt first puff people complain about.
Second, take slower, longer draws rather than short sharp ones. These are mouth to lung devices. A slow three second pull gives better flavour and less condensation than a hard, fast one.
Third, store pods upright and out of direct sunlight. Heat thins the liquid and pushes it past the seals, which is the usual cause of a pod that leaks into the battery contacts.
Common problems and quick fixes
No vapour at all. Nine times out of ten this is charge. Put it on a cable for twenty minutes before assuming the device has failed. If it still does nothing, check the contacts on the pod and the device for liquid and wipe both dry with kitchen roll.
Burnt taste. The pod is finished, or it was drawn on dry. A finished pod cannot be recovered. If it happens within hours of fitting a new one, you are almost certainly chain vaping faster than the wick can keep up. Pause for a minute between draws.
Gurgling or spitback. Usually too much liquid in the airway from being carried in a warm pocket. Take the pod out, tap it gently mouthpiece down onto kitchen roll, and refit.
Weak flavour after a few days. This is vapers tongue, not a fault. Your palate has adapted. Drink some water, switch to a different flavour family for a day, and it resets.
UK rules that apply to everything on this page
All e liquid and pod products sold legally in the UK sit under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations, the domestic implementation of the TPD. In practice that means three hard limits: tanks and pods are capped at 2ml, bottled nicotine containing liquid is capped at 10ml, and nicotine strength is capped at 20mg per ml.
Products must also be notified to the MHRA before sale, carry child resistant and tamper evident packaging, and display the required health warning. Anything advertised to UK buyers above those limits is not compliant, whatever the listing claims. The MHRA guidance on e cigarette regulations sets out the full requirements.
It is worth knowing this because the most common way people end up with a poor quality device is buying grey market stock that was never notified. Everything we list is compliant stock bought through UK distribution.
If this is your first vape
Buy a prefilled pod kit rather than a refillable one. Fewer decisions, nothing to fill, and if you decide vaping is not for you the outlay is small.
Pick a tobacco or menthol flavour to begin with if you are coming off cigarettes, then move to fruit later if you want to. Start at 20mg if you smoked a pack a day, 10mg if you smoked less.
Expect the first two or three days to feel odd. The hand to mouth habit transfers immediately, the throat sensation takes a little longer. Most people who relapse do so in that first week, and almost always because they picked a strength that was too low and never felt satisfied.
If you want structured support alongside switching, NHS Better Health runs free local stop smoking services, and people who combine a vape with that support have markedly better success rates than those going it alone.
Elf Bar FAQs
Are Elf Bar disposables still legal in the UK?
No. Single use disposable vapes were banned on 1 June 2025. Every Elf Bar sold today is rechargeable and uses replaceable pods, which is legal.
How long does an Elf Bar pod last?
A 2ml prefilled pod is broadly comparable to the old 600 puff disposable. Heavy vapers get a day or so, lighter vapers two to three days.
Can I refill an Elf Bar prefilled pod?
Prefilled pods are not designed to be refilled and refilling them tends to ruin the flavour. If you want to refill, buy a refillable pod kit and use ELFLIQ.
What nicotine strength are Elf Bar products?
UK law caps e liquid at 20mg per ml. Elf Bar products are sold at 10mg and 20mg, and ELFLIQ is available in both.
Is Elf Bar better than Lost Mary?
They are made by the same parent company and the quality is comparable. Elf Bar has the wider hardware range, Lost Mary has the BM6000 refill system. Pick on flavour preference.
Do you deliver Elf Bar across the UK?
Yes. All orders ship tracked within the UK. Nicotine products are age restricted, so we verify that you are 18 or over at checkout. Full terms are in our returns and refunds policy.
